WYS AUDITION EXCERPTS
These orchestral excerpts are for auditioning to join the Wellington Youth Sinfonietta for 2027. In addition to your short piece of choice, you must play the below excerpt(s) for your instrument. Auditions will be held on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th December 2026 and the application form will be uploaded here as soon as the audition time slots have been confirmed.
(If you are auditioning for Wellington Youth Orchestra the requirements are different. Please see HERE.)
Violin 2027 - please note that all players need to prepare both excerpts on Page 1. Students that want to be considered for Violin 1 should also prepare Page 2, so all three excerpts.
If your instrument does not have excerpts available, please just present 2 contrasting pieces of your own choosing (e.g. saxophone, percussion, etc).
